Veliyancode: ‘The Sentinel’, a new weekly newspaper published jointly by the Library and Readers Club of MTM College, was officially launched at a ceremony held on the college campus. The event was inaugurated by Prof. Havvahumma, Secretary of the MTM Trust. In her inaugural address, she remarked that the initiative is a matter of great pride for the institution. She highlighted that the newspaper, which will be published every Wednesday featuring current headlines, is unique because the students themselves are the primary driving force behind its creation and publication. The official release of the newspaper was jointly performed by senior journalists Farooq Veliyancode (Mathrubhumi) and Sajeesh P.A. (Deshabhimani). College Principal Abdul Kareem presided over the function. Faisal Bava, the College Librarian and Chief Editor of ‘The Sentinel’, addressed the gathering and explained the operational vision of the newspaper. NSS Program Officer N.P. Ashiq and Student Union Chairman Shamhan delivered felicitation speeches.
