About the Cell

The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) of MTM College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Veliyancode, is constituted in accordance with the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, and the guidelines of the University of Calicut. The Committee is committed to providing a safe, secure, inclusive, and gender-sensitive environment for all students, teaching staff, non-teaching staff, and visitors.

The ICC is responsible for preventing, prohibiting, and addressing complaints related to sexual harassment within the institution. It ensures that every complaint is handled with fairness, confidentiality, impartiality, and sensitivity while protecting the dignity and rights of all individuals involved.

The Committee also conducts awareness programmes, orientation sessions, workshops, and campaigns to promote gender equality, mutual respect, and a culture of dignity on campus. Through preventive and corrective measures, the ICC strives to create an environment where every member of the college community can learn and work without fear of discrimination, harassment, or intimidation.

To prevent and address sexual harassment through awareness, education, timely grievance redressal, and strict adherence to legal and institutional guidelines, thereby fostering a secure and supportive academic environment.

To create a safe, respectful, and inclusive campus that upholds dignity, equality, and justice while ensuring a harassment-free environment for all.

Objectives

  • To provide a safe and secure environment for students, teaching staff, and non-teaching staff.
  • To prevent and prohibit sexual harassment in all forms within the campus.
  • To provide a fair, confidential, and impartial mechanism for receiving and resolving complaints.
  • To ensure timely inquiry and redressal of complaints in accordance with the provisions of the POSH Act, 2013.
  • To create awareness about gender equality, dignity, and workplace ethics through seminars, workshops, and orientation programmes.
  • To promote mutual respect, inclusivity, and a culture of zero tolerance towards sexual harassment.
  • To recommend appropriate measures for ensuring a safe and gender-sensitive campus environment.
