Activity Description: In observance of International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the Department of Sociology, in association with IQAC and the Department of English, organized a meaningful set of awareness activities on the theme “International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking” at MTM College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Veliyancode. The event included a flash mob, human chain, and signature campaign aimed at spreading awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and the importance of prevention. The programme was inaugurated by the Principal, who appreciated the initiative and encouraged students to actively engage in such socially relevant causes. Faculty and students from both departments collaborated effectively, making the event informative and engaging. The flash mob drew attention to the issue through creative performance, while the human chain and signature campaign reflected solidarity and collective responsibility. The event was well-received by the campus community and served as a strong platform to promote awareness and empathy among youth.
