Kaithang is a charitable initiative by theSIP in collaboration with Department of Sociology and IQAC. This program provides essential food kits to underprivileged individuals and families. Multiple editions of the program were conducted throughout the year on June 13, July 18, September 27, October 20, November 19, and February 17, ensuring continuous support to those in need. Faculty members, students, and volunteers actively participated in the collection, packaging, and distribution of food kits.
Kaithang is recognized as one of the best practices of our college. This initiative not only addresses immediate food insecurity but also fosters a culture of social responsibility among students. The program strengthens community engagement by encouraging student participation in social service activities, developing empathy, and instilling values of charity and humanitarianism. Each edition of Kaithang has witnessed increasing involvement from faculty and students, making it a flagship social outreach program of the Sociology Department.
