The Film club programmes of 2021-22 and naming of the club were inaugurated by Prof. Abdul Hameed, Principal, MTM College at Seminar Hall on January 19, 2021. Prof. Suresh presided the function. Felicitation speech was done by Prof. Rajendra Kumar, Vice Principal. Welcome speech and vote of thanks were done by Mr. Vahid and Ajmal respectively. The participation of teachers and members of the film was immense. Here after a documentary film ‘ Kaananam – The Spirit of Silent Valley’ showed.
Suresh Elamon’s short documentary, ‘Kaananam, The Spirit of Silent Valley’, produced by the Kerala State Film Development Corporation, the nearly 28-minute film is a visual treat of the flora and fauna of the ecological haven that is Silent Valley National Park. The film merits acknowledgment for its topic on how to preserve the ecosystem. Nature thrives if it’s given a chance. The Silent Valley National Park’s outcome is what people can achieve if they work together. Its success story is why NGOs and activists should not give up. Change is inevitable; it is up to us to decide in what direction we want it to go.
