The Debate Club of MTM College is established to provide students with opportunities to participate in constructive discussions, debates, and public speaking activities on campus. The club serves as an academic platform where students can express ideas confidently, analyse issues critically, and engage in meaningful dialogue.
Participation in debate activities helps students improve academic performance, research ability, communication skills, leadership qualities, and logical reasoning. The club encourages students to explore current affairs, social issues, policy matters, literature, and intellectual topics through structured debate formats.
The Debate Club plays an important role in building confidence, stage presence, teamwork, and the ability to present ideas effectively with clarity and evidence.

Debate Competition on the topic ' Racism ' was organized by the Debate Club on 15 Tuesday 2022 . The competition was open to all the students of MTM College. 25 students of the college participated in the programme. The whole programme was coordinated by Ranjitha k (staff coordinator) Harijith
The debate topic was regarding the farmers protest due to recent bill passed by the India's Central government. The debate was worth _enjoying for the audience. Every debater was cheered and clapped up for their pleasing presentation and sharp arguments.Astonishing support from respected guests,staffs ,students and the public ,the program became a big success.
The debate topic was regarding the Post Covid Education . Representing the four departments of our college students came up to speak. It was More interesting when discussion was form the perspectives of the students. The live session ended with the vote of thanks by Mr.Suhaib,Assistant Professor,Department of English.
The debate club of the college is set up to enhance the speaking skill of the students and to encourage them to become orators.The club renders an avenue for self expression and independent thinking and thereby helps the students to imbibe self confidence. The participants made use of their debating skills and made them more confident.

The competition was open to English students of MTM college.95 students of the college participated in the programme.The whole programme was coordinated by Ms.Vidya K and Ms.Ranjitha K,staff coordinators of the debate club.
