Dr. V.K. Abdul Azeez, a veteran consultant surgeon and Managing Director of Daya General Hospital, serves as the Chairman of MTM Trust and College, Veliyancode. The institution is named in honor of his beloved father, M.T. Mammad Haji (Late), a progressive and visionary individual who was deeply committed to advancing modern education for future generations. MTM Trust and College stands as a tribute to his enduring legacy, with Dr. Azeez striving to fulfill his father’s dream.

Established in 2014 with just three undergraduate programs and 100 students, MTM College has witnessed remarkable growth. Today, it offers eight degree courses and serves around 800 students. The institution has gained immense public support and has become a valuable educational hub for students from Veliyancode Panchayat, Malappuram, and Thrissur districts. It provides affordable, value-based education, especially benefiting those who cannot bear the high costs of metropolitan institutions.

The college management is actively expanding its infrastructure. The MTM Sports Village is nearing completion, while projects such as the MTM Public Library and MTM Rural IT Park are progressing steadily, with completion planned in the near academic cycle.

In line with evolving industry demands, the college aims to introduce career-oriented and value-added courses in aviation and logistics. These programs are designed to enhance employability, enabling graduates to secure opportunities in airlines, airports, seaports, export-import businesses, and cargo logistics sectors.

The phenomenal growth of the institution is largely attributed to the visionary leadership of Dr. Abdul Azeez and his wife, Professor Hava Humma, who have guided MTM Trust and College with dedication and foresight.

Dr. Azeez is not only a distinguished surgeon but also an avid reader, gifted speaker, and accomplished writer. He contributes articles on healthcare topics to newspapers and periodicals and regularly engages audiences through visual media platforms. His programs have been featured on channels such as Asianet, Kairali, Janam TV, and Jeevan TV.

During his tenure as Deputy Superintendent at Thrissur Medical College, he played a key role in forming the “Friends of Medical College,” an organization focused on infrastructure development and support services. Initiatives included maintenance of medical equipment, hiring temporary staff, and establishing the “Janata Pharmacy,” which provided medicines at subsidized rates to economically disadvantaged patients. This initiative challenged unethical practices in the pharmaceutical trade and faced opposition from vested interests.

After leaving government service, Dr. Azeez founded the Daya Speciality Surgical Centre, which later evolved into Daya General Hospital—a 300-bed multi-super specialty institution equipped with modern facilities. This hospital stands as a testament to his vision and commitment to quality healthcare.
