About the Cell

The Anti-Ragging Committee of MTM College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Veliyancode, is constituted in accordance with the regulations of the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the University of Calicut to ensure a ragging-free campus. The Committee is committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, and inclusive academic environment where every student can pursue education with dignity and confidence.

The Committee adopts a zero-tolerance policy towards ragging in any form. It is responsible for preventing, monitoring, and addressing incidents of ragging through awareness programmes, orientation sessions, counselling, and strict implementation of anti-ragging regulations. Any complaint received is handled promptly, fairly, and confidentially in accordance with the applicable rules and regulations.

The Committee also works closely with students, faculty, parents, and college authorities to foster a culture of mutual respect, discipline, and harmony, ensuring that the campus remains a welcoming place for all students.

Vision

To prevent ragging through awareness, education, counselling, and effective enforcement of anti-ragging regulations while promoting a culture of respect, discipline, and responsible student behaviour.

To create a ragging-free, safe, and inclusive campus where every student enjoys equal respect, dignity, and opportunities for academic and personal growth.

Objectives

  • To ensure a ragging-free and student-friendly campus environment.
  • To prevent and prohibit ragging in all its forms as per UGC and University of Calicut regulations.
  • To create awareness among students about the legal consequences of ragging.
  • To encourage healthy interaction, mutual respect, and positive relationships among students.
  • To receive, investigate, and promptly address complaints related to ragging.
  • To organize orientation programmes, awareness campaigns, and counselling sessions on anti-ragging measures.
  • To safeguard the dignity, rights, and well-being of every student.
  • To promote discipline, harmony, and a culture of mutual respect within the college community.
