Profile

The Department of Commerce has been making valuable contributions to society by nurturing competent, skilled, and socially responsible graduates over the years. Known for its academic excellence, disciplined environment, and quality infrastructure, the department has emerged as one of the leading academic wings of the institution.

The department was established in 2014 with the introduction of three undergraduate programmes: B.Com Finance, B.Com Computer Application, and B.Com Co-operation. Later, in 2020, the department expanded its academic offerings with the launch of B.Com Professional.

The department places strong emphasis on discipline, student development, and effective governance, which remain its key strengths. It continuously strives for progress in both academic and co-curricular domains through innovative teaching methods, seminars, workshops, career guidance programmes, and skill development initiatives.

Students graduating from the Department of Commerce have secured excellent career opportunities in business, finance, banking, entrepreneurship, and other professional sectors. The department takes pride in the steady and planned career development support extended to students, enabling them to achieve success in their chosen fields.

Co-operative Banker (2022-23)

The course trains the students to have a base to attend different CSEB examinations confidently and to win attractive banking jobs. The course effectively imparts the common study areas of various examinations for the posts of Junior clerks, Cashier, Accountant and Secretary..etc The course is also helpful to aspirants of non banking co-operative jobs.
