Oath Taking Ceremony
The Department of English, in collaboration with the National Service Scheme (NSS) and the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) celebrated National Constitution Day (26/11/23) on the 27th of November, 2023 Monday and conducted an Oath Taking Ceremony in the campus. Dr. Fabitha Ibrahim, the Head of the English Department, articulated the pledge, echoing the values and principles enshrined in the Indian Constitution and the students stood in unison, repeating each word with reverence and solemnity.

The department of English organised an a state-level seminar on the topic “ ‘ FLUENT U’ ENGLISH SPEAKING AND PRONUNCIATION PROGRAMME ” on 20th september 2023, from 10.00 am to 12.00 pm in the college auditorium.The programme was inaugurated by the principal John Joseph. Bridge Course 2023-24

The Department of English at MTM College, Veliyancode, undertook a significant educational initiative by organising a four-day bridge course for first-year BA English students. M.s Amina Melathil, Assistant Professor, Dept of English was the coordinator of the Bridge course. This program, designed to bridge the transition from school to higher education, aimed to provide foundational knowledge, develop essential skills, and familiarise students with college-level expectations.

Workshop on research methodology
The Department of English organised a workshop on research methodology on 21st August 2023 at N6 Classroom. The primary objective of the program was to provide the student with available insights into the research process, methodologies, topic selection, integration of literary theories, and abstract writing for their upcoming project work.
