Literaria – Department Association Inauguration

The English Department inaugurated its association ‘Literaria’ on 31st January 2025. The event featured a keynote session by Mr. Anto Dane, a Soft Skills Trainer. Welcomed by Ms. Deepthi T.K. and presided over by Dr. Fabitha Ibrahim, the programme aimed to promote academic discussions and extracurricular activities. Literaria was introduced as a platform for enhancing students’ literary, communicative, and leadership abilities through various events and workshops.

Extension Programme – Speak Up (GHSS Veliyancode)

On 15th November 2024, the department conducted Speak Up: Communicative English Training at GHSS Veliyancode. The session was led by four S6 BA English students—Asna, Jaseelabi, Mufeena Mufthi, and Asifa. It aimed to enhance school students' communication skills through engaging activities. The training focused on improving spoken English, boosting confidence, and bridging classroom language gaps. It showcased peer-led teaching and community outreach in language education

Extension Programme – Fluent U (Umeri English School)

On 15th November 2024, the department held Fluent U: Communicative English Training at Umeri English School. Led by four S6 BA English students—Malavika, Hismath, Giaza, and Rimshana M.S.—the session helped students improve spoken English and confidence. Activities were interactive and skill-focused, making language learning enjoyable. The initiative aimed to extend English language support to local schools, reflecting the department’s commitment to community engagement.

Training for Paper Presentation

On 30th August 2024, a training session on Paper Presentation Skills was conducted to equip students with techniques for academic presentations. Inaugurated by Dr. Fabitha Ibrahim, the session covered structuring papers, presenting with clarity, and building speaker confidence. The interactive format helped participants gain practical insights and prepare for seminars, conferences, and classroom activities. The training enhanced public speaking and scholarly communication skills essential for academic success.
