International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking

This awareness program was conducted to educate students and the community on the dangers of drug abuse and the importance of preventive measures. The event featured expert talks, interactive discussions, and a pledge-taking ceremony against substance abuse. It aimed to sensitize young minds to the harmful effects of drug addiction and promote a drug-free society.

Kaithang (Food Kit Distribution)

Kaithang is a charitable initiative by the Department of Sociology in collaboration with SIP and IQAC. This program provides essential food kits to underprivileged individuals and families. Multiple editions of the program were conducted throughout the year on June 13, July 18, September 27, October 20, November 19, and February 17, ensuring continuous support to those in need. Faculty members, students, and volunteers actively participated in the collection, packaging, and distribution of food kits.

Blood Donation Camps

The department, in collaboration with the Perinthalmanna Blood Bank, organized two blood donation camps during the academic year. Students, faculty members, and staff voluntarily participated in this noble cause, contributing to emergency healthcare services. The camps successfully raised awareness about the importance of blood donation and saw an overwhelming response from first-time donors.

Tsunami Mock Drill

In collaboration with disaster management authorities, a tsunami mock drill was organized to educate students and faculty on emergency preparedness and response strategies. The drill simulated an earthquake and tsunami scenario, helping participants understand evacuation procedures and the importance of disaster readiness.
