Oath taking Ceremony

World Suicide Prevention Day was observed at MTM College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Veliyancode. As part of the program, an oath-taking ceremony was organized in all classrooms under the initiative of the Department of Sociology and IQAC.
Teachers led the students in pledging to value life, support one another, break the silence around mental health, and spread hope and kindness. The activity created awareness among students about the importance of mental well-being and the collective responsibility to prevent suicide.

Activity Description: In observance of World Refugee Day, the Department of Sociology, in association with IQAC and the Department of English, organized a meaningful set of awareness activities on the theme “International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking” at MTM College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Veliyancode. The event included a flash mob, human chain, and signature campaign aimed at spreading awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and the importance of prevention. Empathy Beyond Borders: Understanding Refugee Experience

In observance of World Refugee Day, the Department of Sociology, in collaboration with IQAC, organized a documentary screening titled “Empathy Beyond Borders: Understanding Refugee Experience”. The program aimed to shed light on the struggles and resilience of refugees worldwide and promote empathy and awareness among students. The event concluded with an interactive discussion, reflecting on the humanitarian crisis and the importance of solidarity.
Rain Walk

On Thursday, 19th June 2025, the Department of Sociology conducted a Rain Walk in Veliyancode exclusively for the fifth semester students. The program was led by Head of the Department Mr. Abdul Wasih K. K, and faculty members Ms. Asma Sherin U and Ms. Mubashira K P. The event provided a refreshing and joyful experience for the students, combining nature with sociological reflection. The program was a great success.
