World Suicide Prevention Day was observed at MTM College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Veliyancode. In observance of World Refugee Day, the Department of Sociology, in collaboration with IQAC, organized a documentary screening titled “Empathy Beyond Borders: Understanding Refugee Experience”. The program aimed to shed light on the struggles and resilience of refugees worldwide and promote empathy and awareness among students. The event concluded with an interactive discussion, reflecting on the humanitarian crisis and the importance of solidarity.

On Thursday, 19th June 2025, the Department of Sociology conducted a Rain Walk in Veliyancode exclusively for the fifth semester students. The program was led by Head of the Department Mr. Abdul Wasih K. K, and faculty members Ms. Asma Sherin U and Ms. Mubashira K P. The event provided a refreshing and joyful experience for the students, combining nature with sociological reflection. The program was a great success.
